Training:
Margaret graduated from UCD Medical School in 1989 and completed her internship at St Vincent University Hospital. She received her MRCPI in 1991.
Experience:
Margaret spent three years as Medical Registrar and Trinity College Medical Lecturer in the Meath and Adelaide Hospitals during which she completed a clinical and laboratory research project, for which she received her MD from Trinity College. She spent two further years as Research Registrar in the Mater University Hospital and was involved in the provision and development of the maternity endocrinology services. Fellowships at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut followed – first with adult endocrine services with a focus on insulin resistance and then in paediatric endocrine services with a focus on insulin pump therapy in IDDM. She has numerous publications particularly in field of NIDDM, obesity and insulin resistance.
Margaret returned to Dublin in 2002 and has provided a comprehensive private endocrinology service since that time
