Training:
Mr Donagh Healy graduated with a first class honours medical degree from University College Cork in 2008. He went on to complete higher surgical training in vascular surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2020, followed by a one-year fellowship in open vascular surgery at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
Experience:
Mr Donagh Healy is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon here in Beacon Hospital. He is highly experienced at both open and minimally invasive vascular surgery. Donagh has particular interests in the management of varicose veins, peripheral arterial disease, carotid artery disease, aneurysmal disease and diabetic foot disease.
In 2021, Mr Donagh Healy was appointed as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon in the Belfast Trust. Donagh also has a strong track record in surgical research. He holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Research Methodology and a PhD in Surgery. He has co-authored over 55 peer-reviewed scientific papers. In addition to research, Donagh has a keen interest in teaching and is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Ulster.
