Training & Experience

Dr Ikhwan Marion is a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine at Beacon Hospital.

In 2011, he graduated with honours in medicine (MB, BCh) from the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). He was also awarded the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI) membership in 2014. Dr Ikhwan completed his training in Geriatric Medicine and GIM in Ireland. He worked in County Galway, Mayo, Dublin, Westmeath and Louth before joining Beacon Hospital in 2024. He holds a Diploma in Syncope and related disorders, a Diploma in Stroke and Cerebrovascular Accidents (CVA), and a Master’s in Healthcare Management.

Dr Ikhwan is passionate about research and education and became a language teacher at UCD in 2017. From 2019 to 2021, he also served as an Assistant Professor in Medical Education at Trinity College, Dublin. Dr Ikhwan has presented his research projects at both international and national platforms and has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed publications. He is also involved in assessing junior doctors for clinical examinations. In his free time, he competes in badminton at the Badminton Premier League, Dublin District Leagues & Cups.
