2025 Annual GP Study Day

Our 2025 Annual GP Study Day took place in UCD O’Reilly Hall on Saturday 25th January. Worth 6.5 CPD Points and 1 Day GMS Study Leave, our Study Day featured presentations from Orthopaedics, Urology, Dermatology and more. Our Study Day was Chaired by Mr Maurice Neligan, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Director of Orthopaedics.

Our early morning session began with a Masterclass in Shoulder Case Studies by Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons, Ms Ruth Delaney and Mr Muiris Kennedy. Jacqueline Robinson, COO gave GPs an update on Beacon Hospital services.

Ms Paula Kelly kicked off session one with an update on Common Children’s Orthopaedic Conditions. Mr Alan Laing and Mr Yasser Aljabi discussed Ankle Fusion vs Ankle Replacement. Dr Orla NiMhuircheartaigh presented on Biologic Treatments for Inflammatory Arthritis. Finally, Mr Jabir Nagaria, Consultant Neurosurgeon was BACK, by Popular Demand!

Dr Stephanie Menzies began our second session with a presention for GPs on Managing Dermatological Complaints. Dr Sinead Harty spoke on common genital complaints in Children. Ms Anna Walsh presented on Haematuria in primary practice. Mr Mohammud Shakeel Inder followed up with a brief patient update on Focal Therapy.

Finally we had an informative discussion by Prof David Burke and Dr John Kavanagh as they spoke on the Role of CT for Cardiac Diagnostics.
