On Saturday 23rd July the Beacon Hospital All-Ireland Football 7s took place in Kilmacud Crokes. The Beacon Hospital All-Ireland Football 7s has been a key event in the football calendar for nearly 50 years and took centre stage on the second weekend in the month of national 7s competitions.
Spectators on the day were treated to a festival of football as 24 teams from around the country battled it out in Páirc De Burca and Silverpark. Eight teams progressed from the group stages into the quarter-finals and after some exciting quarter and semi-final games we were treated to a thrilling final.
Skryne on Top
After a tense battle, Skryne of Co. Meath were crowned champions becoming the first Meath club to win this prestigious competition. They overcame Mountbellew Moylough of Co. Galway in the final on a score line of 2-6 to 0-10.
